Opportunities in the Lab

Let's work together to tackle emerging infectious diseases in wildlife.

I seek to prepare students to be innovative thinkers and effective problem solvers through teaching and mentorship. I enjoy mentoring students and see mentorship as being an active participant in the academic, professional, and personal development of undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs. I am committed to embodying a role model for students founded in professionalism, integrity, compassion, and a thirst for discovery.

I have filled all graduate positions in my lab for the Fall 2024 semester; however, may be accepting additional students in Fall 2025.  Please check back later.  Informal email inquiries are welcome.

Postdocs

I am currently looking to recruit a postdoc starting in the Fall of 2024 (flexible) who will lead research projects within our research sphere, wrap up existing manuscripts, mentor students, and assist with lab management activities. The aims of the position will be tailored to the expertise of the successful applicant and complement the lab’s broad interests in amphibian disease, microbiomes, and host immunity.  Please see the position description for details.

I am also always willing to support postdocs in applying for their own funding through programs like NSF or Smith Fellows.

If you're a motivated undergraduate student interested in gaining research experience, let's discuss your research interests and whether they might be a good fit for the lab. We will be looking to hire research assistants for experimental and field work, and also to have students conduct independent research. If you're interested in discussing options, please email me a resume and a short message describing your interests.
