The Bletz Lab
Opportunities in the Lab
Let's work together to tackle emerging infectious diseases in wildlife.
I seek to prepare students to be innovative thinkers and effective problem solvers through teaching and mentorship. I enjoy mentoring students and see mentorship as being an active participant in the academic, professional, and personal development of undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs. I am committed to embodying a role model for students founded in professionalism, integrity, compassion, and a thirst for discovery.
I have filled all graduate positions in my lab; however, I may be accepting additional students in Fall 2026. Please check back later. Informal email inquiries are welcome! I'd love to chat about your interests and aspirations and how to get you there!
Graduate Students
Postdocs
I am always looking to work with researchers whose broad interests align with amphibian disease, microbiomes, and host immunity. My vision for postdocs is that they lead research projects within our research sphere, work on manuscripts, mentor students, and play a role in lab management activities. Please email me to see what opportunities may exist in the lab! I am also always willing to support postdocs in applying for their own funding through programs like NSF or Smith Fellows.
If you're a motivated undergraduate student interested in gaining research experience, let's discuss your research interests and whether they might be a good fit for the lab. We will be looking to hire research assistants for experimental and field work, and also to have students conduct independent research. If you're interested in discussing options, please email me a resume and a short message describing your interests.
